Did Obama ever held a top management position such a CEO of major corporaton, Mayor, Governor...?

Vice-President other than having been a first term US Senator? Going back to GWB, Slick Willy, Older Bush, Jimmy Carter, Nixon, Johnson and Gerald Ford, all seemed to have had major management positions prior to being elected president. I'm bringing this up because Sarah Palin was being judged as unqualified by the left but her credentials compared to Obama was much more noteworthy. At least she was a mayor at one time and a governor after.
