Is Valerie Plame Wilson the first covert CIA agent to be exposed by her own government?

It has been confirmed that Valerie Plame Wilson was a covert agent up until the time she was admittadly "outed" by Bush administration officials-Armitage, Rove, Libby and Fleischer (admitted by them individually.) Written confirmation to Congress of her covert status was provided by CIA Director, General Michael Hayden. And Prosecutor Fitzgerald left little or no doubt that the plan to expose her originated in the White House, probably Cheney's office. Her career was ruined and her life, as well as others, put in danger. And our national security re: worldwide WMD was compromised. (No one was convicted of criminality simply because it could not be proven that they KNEW she was covert.) Yet no one in the Bush administration has expressed any regret or apology for their actions. Is there any precedent in our history for this sort of action, which could well fall into the category of treason??
